Weekend camping trip

Morrow Mountain State Park
49104 Morrow Mountain Road | Albemarle, NC
Saturday, Oct 31| 10:00 AM - 11:45 AM

IMPORTANT: To register for this event, you MUST fill out this form.

Come out to enjoy fresh air with your fellow secular folk for a Memorial Day camping weekend. Morrow Mountain State Park is just a couple hours west of Raleigh in the Uwharrie National Forest.

We reserved a group site where you can enjoy the camaraderie of your TFS family around the camp fire at night. This is tent camping only (no electricity or motorized campers), but there are shower and flush toilet facilities. No experience is necessary and some TFS members have equipment others can borrow; indicate anything you need help with in the registration form.

The campsite cost will be shared by all participants. Due to limited parking, we are planning to split the total cost ($153) evenly between each vehicle attending. We anticipate 4-8 vehicles total, making your anticipated cost between $19 - $38 total for the three nights. Please consider carpooling to save expenses. Contact us or post in the Meetup thread if you have room in your vehicle or are looking for a ride.

Dogs and kids are welcome, but leashes are required for all pets.

We have some tentative opt-in events planned, which may be adjusted to the interests of participants. Note that participants are expected to bring their own food and beverages (though many folks will probably be willing to share). Let us know if you have any thoughts or other ideas!

Friday Evening

  • Firepit, tunes and star gazing. BYO beverages.

Saturday Afternoon Hike

Saturday Evening Group Dinner

While this event is open to the public and all are welcome, this is not a time or place for evangelizing and harassment/discrimination will not be tolerated. We are an inclusive organization and anyone causing a disturbance or intentionally making others uncomfortable will be asked to leave.
