Come out to enjoy fresh air with your fellow secular folk! We will hike to the highest point in the Triangle region. The total trip is 5 miles in shaded woods ending with a scenic view of the mountain. These are exceptionally well groomed trails with minimal roots and mostly level footing.
Meet at the Peach Orchard Trailhead
9-11 AM: Lark Loop + Mountainview (4.8 mi) Trail offers a hike with rewarding views. As you walk along the trail, you'll see unique stream formations and a stone dam before reaching a scenic viewpoint of the mountain and its iconic observation tower. This trail is ideal for nature enthusiasts looking for a short yet memorable outdoor adventure.
What to expect at TFS Hikes:
A brisk / fitness pace - 3 mph
Terrain that can be rooty or rocky
Some steep hills or creek crossings
1.5-2.5 hrs of exercise and adventure
If you aren’t sure you will enjoy keeping up with the group, please consider the TFS events labeled “Walk.”
Dogs are welcome if they are friendly and leashed. Don’t forget extra water and poop bags for your four-legged hiker.
While this event is open to the public and all are welcome, this is not a time or place for evangelizing and harassment/discrimination will not be tolerated. We are an inclusive organization and anyone causing a disturbance or intentionally making others uncomfortable will be asked to leave.
